MINNEAPOLIMEDIA NEWS | Sandgrass Pointe Opens 44 Affordable Homes in Brooklyn Park, Pairing Housing With Resident Support
The development on 69th Avenue North includes apartments, family-sized townhomes and services intended to help residents maintain stable housing.
BROOKLYN PARK, MN (October 29, 2026). A newly opened affordable housing development is adding 44 homes to Brooklyn Park, with a combination of smaller apartments, larger townhomes and supportive services for residents facing barriers to housing stability.
Sandgrass Pointe, at 5800 69th Avenue North, was developed by Woda Cooper Companies and Project for Pride in Living. Local and state officials attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony, according to CCX Media’s October 23 reporting. The developers released additional project details October 26.
Homes for different household sizes
The $26.2 million development includes 11 one-bedroom homes, 22 two-bedroom homes, seven three-bedroom homes and four four-bedroom homes.
According to the developers, income eligibility varies across units, serving households between 30% and 80% of area median income. Announced rents range from $554 to $1,830, depending on income restrictions, bedroom count and unit size. Those figures describe the project’s range and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed rent or an indication that a particular apartment remains available.
The development includes a community room, playground, fitness center and community garden. U.S. Bank participated in the financing as a bridge lender, construction lender and tax-credit investor.
Support beyond the lease
Project for Pride in Living will provide on-site supportive services to some residents. In CCX’s reporting, PPL President and CEO Karla Henderson described assistance ranging from understanding lease obligations to connecting with dental care and managing everyday household needs.
Developer Eric Wright told CCX that insulation and efficient heating, cooling and water-heating systems are intended to reduce residents’ utility costs. Those projected savings were presented as a developer expectation.
CCX reported that applications already exceeded the number of homes available, underscoring the importance of checking current leasing conditions before making moving plans.
How to inquire
The property’s official website lists 612-389-0146 as its leasing contact and provides an online inquiry form. Prospective residents should ask about current availability, income documentation, household-size requirements, accessible units and any waiting-list process.
Further information is available through Sandgrass Pointe.
