Leslie Larson wins Blaine City Council Ward 2 seat in Special Election
Leslie Larson has been named the winner of the Blaine City Council Ward 2 Special Election that took place Tuesday, April 11.
One of the two Blaine City Council Ward 2 seat’s became vacant in January after former City Council Member Julie Jeppson was voted in as the Anoka County District 6 commissioner.
The candidates for the election include Paul Gregory Edgett, Heidi Green, Leslie Larson, Michelle Rice, J. Steve Weed and Terry Wold.
According to unofficial results, Larson received 881 votes, or 53.13%; Green 604 votes, or 36.43%; Rice 68 votes, or 4.10%; Wold and Weed each received 48 votes, or 2.9%, and Edgett received nine votes, or 0.54%.
A total of 1,660 ballots were cast in the election, which included 462 absentee ballots and 1,198 ballots on Election Day.
