The three-night event opened Thursday, April 23, at 6:45 p.m. and continues with performances scheduled for Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, both beginning at 7:15 p.m., according to information released by the City of Coon Rapids.
The Spring Ice Show, which dates back to 1990, is organized as a culminating performance for skaters enrolled in instructional programs at the ice center. Participants perform routines developed throughout the season, reflecting skill progression across all levels of instruction.
This year’s production, titled “Decades on Ice,” is structured around music and cultural themes from multiple eras. Choreography, costuming, and musical selections are aligned with the theme to present a program organized by decade.
The show features more than 100 skaters ranging from young children in introductory classes to adult participants. The Skating School program is designed to accommodate a broad range of experience levels, from foundational instruction in balance and movement to more advanced elements such as jumps, spins, and coordinated group routines.
The performance program includes a mix of full-group numbers, small ensemble routines, and individual or featured segments. A recurring component of the annual show, the parent-child performance, is included in this year’s program.
The Ice Show serves as a public-facing event for the skating program and draws attendance from families, friends, and local residents. The facility opens in advance of each performance to allow for audience seating and event preparation.
Organizers indicate that seating is general admission, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
Tickets for the remaining performances are available both in advance and at the door, subject to availability. Advance tickets can be purchased online at the official event page: https://www.vancoevents.com/us/eventlist/cric
