Coon Rapids Youngsters Spark Fire Safety Awareness With Annual Poster Contest
The Coon Rapids Fire Department is igniting the creative sparks of local youth with its annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest.
Open to 4th and 5th graders in the city, the contest seeks to brew a mix of artistry and awareness by encouraging kids to illustrate this year's theme, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!” Contestants are vying for prizes and the opportunity to make their mark on fire safety, according to the City of Coon Rapids.
Contest participants have from now until Monday, Oct. 28 to submit their entries, which can be picked up at City Hall, as detailed by the City of Coon Rapids. Children who live or attend school in Coon Rapids are eligible, and with fiery enthusiasm, the contest organizers are expecting a blaze of submissions.
