ANOKA, MN – June 4, 2025 – The Anoka-Hennepin Technical High School (AHTHS) Class of 2025 celebrated a significant milestone on Wednesday, June 4, as 69 graduates received their diplomas, marking the culmination of their high school education and specialized vocational training. The commencement ceremony, held at the AHTHS campus which is located on the grounds of Anoka Technical College, highlighted the unique pathways these students have forged toward both postsecondary education and direct entry into skilled professions.
The evening ceremony, which commenced at 7:30 p.m., was a testament to the graduates' dedication, offering a platform to launch into diverse career goals. Superintendent Cory McIntyre was on hand to congratulate the graduating class, emphasizing their readiness to contribute to the workforce and pursue further educational opportunities. "The Anoka-Hennepin Technical High School commencement signals a significant accomplishment for graduates, offering high school degree completion and a platform to launch into postsecondary education opportunities and career goals," the Anoka-Hennepin School District noted.
The ceremony featured inspiring student leadership, with Abdulhamid Nufays and Abba Oke serving as student speakers. Nathaniel Manning led the Pledge of Allegiance, adding to the evening's celebratory atmosphere. Among the many achievements recognized were those of nine graduates who also earned college credit alongside their high school diplomas, showcasing the school's seamless transition for students from high school to postsecondary opportunities through its connection with Anoka Technical College.
The Class of 2025 is poised to enter high-demand fields, equipped with practical skills and industry-recognized certifications. The school, which was nationally recognized for innovation and excellence with a Magna Award from the National School Boards Association in 2016, continues its mission to guide students who may not have graduated with their peers to diploma completion.
Several students were also awarded scholarships to assist with their post-secondary education. Jayden Unterberger, for instance, received a $2,000 scholarship from the Anoka-Technical College Foundation.
School Board members Kacy Deschene, Dr. Michelle Langenfeld, and Jeff Simon joined Superintendent McIntyre in congratulating the students on their accomplishments. The entire ceremony was live-streamed by QCTV – Quad Cities Community Television, allowing family and friends to celebrate the milestone from afar, with replays also available for viewing.
This graduation not only signifies the completion of high school but also the exciting beginning of professional journeys for these talented individuals from Minnesota's largest school district.
