COON RAPIDS, MN — A Fridley man who posed as a UPS delivery driver to gain entry into a Coon Rapids home and fatally shoot three family members has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

On September 11, 2025, Alonzo Pierre Mingo, 39, was sentenced after being convicted of multiple counts of first-degree murder, aiding and abetting murder, and second-degree murder in connection with the January 26, 2024, killings of Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, her husband Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada, and her son Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth.

Crime Details

Surveillance footage from the home and nearby cameras showed three individuals arriving at the residence, two of whom were dressed in UPS-style uniforms and carrying a cardboard box. Inside, Mingo was seen holding the victims at gunpoint and demanding money. Later footage captured him fatally shooting the woman.

Two young children were present in the home at the time of the murders.

Investigation and Arrest

Mingo was arrested later that day after being pulled over in his vehicle in Fridley. Investigators found a UPS-style uniform in his backpack and linked his fingerprints to a cardboard box left at the crime scene.

Co-Defendants

Two other men, Omari Shumpert and Demetrius Shumpert, have been indicted on six counts of first-degree murder in connection with the killings. Omari Shumpert's trial is scheduled for December, and Demetrius Shumpert's trial is scheduled for November.

Community Impact

The murders shocked the Coon Rapids community, particularly due to the use of a delivery disguise and the presence of young children during the attack. Family members and community leaders have expressed deep grief and concern following the killings.
