Minneapolis, MN – After an intense, multi-agency search that spanned several days, 12-year-old Victoria Alexandria Jackson—who had been reported missing from the Minnehaha Falls area—has been safely located. Her family announced the news via a public Facebook post, which included a recent photo of Victoria and expressed deep gratitude to the public, volunteers, and law enforcement officers involved in the search effort.

Jackson, who is diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and uses an insulin pump, was last seen on the evening of Saturday, August 2, walking away from Minnehaha Falls Regional Park in south Minneapolis. Due to the seriousness of her medical condition, the situation was immediately deemed high-risk and prompted an escalated emergency response. According to the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD), Jackson’s vulnerability to a potential medical emergency without proper insulin administration made locating her a time-sensitive priority.
In coordination with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Transit Police, the MPD deployed extensive resources, including K-9 search teams, drones, foot patrols, and video surveillance review, alongside social media monitoring. An Amber Alert was issued on Tuesday afternoon, which further amplified public awareness of the case across Minnesota.
Community involvement proved equally vital. Dozens of local residents mobilized to support the effort, organizing volunteer search parties and circulating flyers both online and around the Twin Cities. The emotional toll was apparent as Victoria’s mother, Briana Jackson, and aunt, Danielle Matthias, made impassioned public pleas for assistance and prayed for her safe return.
On Wednesday morning, August 6, Victoria’s family publicly confirmed that she had been found safe. The social media post shared by her relatives included a current image of Victoria and thanked the community for its outpouring of support. As of this publication, law enforcement officials have not disclosed specific details regarding where or how she was located, citing privacy considerations.
“This was a coordinated effort fueled by hope, urgency, and public goodwill,” said an MPD spokesperson. “The safe recovery of Victoria is the outcome we were all working toward, and we’re thankful to everyone who assisted.”
The family has asked for privacy as they reunite and begin to heal from the emotional toll of the ordeal.
