Coon Creek Watershed District Offers Grants for Water Education Projects

The Coon Creek Watershed District (CCWD) is inviting local educators, nonprofits, civic groups, and businesses to apply for Water Education Grants designed to promote awareness and stewardship of water resources. The program supports projects that align with CCWD’s mission of protecting and preserving surface and groundwater within the district’s boundaries.

  • Eligibility: Nonprofits, K–12 educators, businesses, and civic groups located within CCWD boundaries, which include portions of Andover, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Fridley, Ham Lake, and other Anoka County communities.

Its curriculum guide features more than 90 interactive activities that integrate science, social studies, math, and environmental studies. The program’s goal is to help learners of all ages understand the science of water, its role in ecosystems and communities, and the importance of responsible water management.

How to Apply

Applications are accepted year-round on a rolling basis until available funds are distributed. Interested applicants should visit the CCWD website for complete program details, guidance, and application forms. For additional questions, the district encourages contacting its Engagement Coordinator at info@cooncreek.org or (763) 755-0975.
