The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is extending an open invitation to residents for its annual Community Open House on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sheriff’s Office headquarters, 13301 Hanson Blvd. NW in Andover.
The event is free and open to the public, designed to strengthen ties between law enforcement and the community while showcasing the people, programs, and tools that keep Anoka County safe.
Attendees will experience firsthand the depth and diversity of services the Sheriff’s Office provides. Highlights include:
Public safety helicopters and booths from community partners will add to the interactive experience.
A special feature this year is guided tours of Anoka County’s new Emergency Communications Center (911), available from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Visitors will gain an insider’s perspective on how 911 calls are received, prioritized, and dispatched—a rare opportunity to understand the heart of the county’s emergency response system.
Local food trucks will be on site, offering meals and refreshments for purchase, making the event both family-friendly and community-focused. Parents are encouraged to bring children for an engaging, educational evening out.
Sheriff Brad Wise emphasized the importance of the open house as a cornerstone of community engagement.
“This event is about building trust and creating opportunities for people to connect with us,” Sheriff Wise said. “When our community understands what we do and how we do it, we are all better prepared to work together for a safer Anoka County.”
