Coon Rapids, MN – Friday, September 26, 2025 — Today marks the last chance this year to take part in a community favorite: the ACBC Food Shelf’s final free outdoor produce distribution of the season. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Pavilion 3 at Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park (9750 Egret Blvd. NW) will transform into a hub of fresh, healthy abundance — and everyone is invited.
With grocery costs continuing to climb, access to nutritious, high-quality food remains a pressing need. This morning’s event provides more than just produce — it offers relief, dignity, and choice for community members across Anoka County and beyond.
The ACBC Food Shelf (Anoka County Brotherhood Council) has long been a cornerstone of local support, offering food, clothing, and critical resources to families facing financial strain. In addition to its year-round market in Anoka, ACBC hosts bi-monthly outdoor produce distributions, helping ensure that fresh fruits and vegetables are accessible to all. Today’s gathering at the Dam is the final outdoor distribution of 2025.
Organizers recommend attendees bring a wagon, cart, or sturdy reusable bags to carry produce home. Supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Set against the scenic backdrop of the Mississippi River, the event also highlights the importance of community connection in challenging times. As ACBC leaders emphasize, this isn’t just about food — it’s about neighbors helping neighbors, and ensuring every family has the chance to thrive.
