Time & Place Tropical Wine Bar Officially Welcomed to Coon Rapids Community

COON RAPIDS, MN — October 2, 2025 — Time & Place, a new tropical wine bar and restaurant offering a fusion of Jamaican and Asian-American cuisine, was officially welcomed to the Coon Rapids business community this February with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce.

Located in the former Dairy Queen building at 3064 Coon Rapids Boulevard NW, the restaurant has been operating since February and is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite. Time & Place combines a vibrant bar setting with a unique dining experience, spotlighting flavors that draw on both Caribbean traditions and Asian-American influences.

Owner and Executive Chef Rowan Brown said the inspiration for the restaurant’s name came from a cherished spot in his native Jamaica. Brown credits his mother for sparking his passion for cooking during his childhood. “The goal was to create a place that feels both familiar and adventurous, where flavors bring people together,” he explained.

The menu features a range of infused dishes, with standout items that have already become community favorites:

  • Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls
  • Jamaican Bunme (a fusion twist on the Vietnamese bánh mì)
  • Red Stripe Beer Rice (rice cooked with the iconic Jamaican beer)

Business partner Grace Jacobsma, who manages the financial operations, said the community’s response has been overwhelmingly positive. “We’ve been welcomed with open arms, and we’re excited to continue building on that support as the business grows,” she noted.

Time & Place opens daily at 11:00 a.m., offering dine-in, pick-up, and delivery options. In addition to its food menu, the restaurant also highlights a tropical wine bar experience, making it a distinctive addition to Coon Rapids’ dining scene.
