26th Annual North Suburban Home Show Returns This Saturday
Andover, MN
Free event at Andover YMCA features dozens of vendors, free architect consultations, and a food drive benefiting the ACBC Food Shelf.
The North Suburban Home Show returns this Saturday, March 7, marking the 26th year of a community tradition that brings homeowners, contractors, and curious neighbors together under one roof.
Held at the Andover YMCA Community Center, the free event offers six hours of home improvement inspiration, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and continuing until 2:00 p.m. Visitors can explore dozens of vendor booths, meet professionals from across the northern Twin Cities suburbs, and gather ideas for remodeling, landscaping, and home technology projects.
Admission is free, though organizers encourage attendees to bring non-perishable food donations or monetary contributions to support the ACBC Food Shelf, one of Anoka County’s most active hunger relief organizations.
Event Details
The show takes place at the Andover YMCA Community Center, located at 15200 Hanson Blvd. NW in Andover, a central location at the intersection of Hanson Boulevard and Crosstown Boulevard in the rapidly growing north metro suburbs.
One of the most sought-after opportunities at the event is a free one-on-one consultation with a licensed architect, a valuable resource for homeowners considering additions, renovations, or new construction. Consultation slots are available through on-site sign-ups.
For many attendees, the chance to speak directly with professionals in an informal setting is one of the event’s biggest attractions.
A Nearly Three-Decade Community Tradition
Since its launch in 1999, the North Suburban Home Show has grown steadily into one of the region’s most anticipated annual gatherings for homeowners and local businesses.
The event is supported through a collaboration between the cities of Coon Rapids, Anoka, and Andover, along with the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce. That partnership has helped sustain the show for more than a quarter century while expanding its reach across the north metro.
Attendance has continued to climb in recent years. The 25th annual show drew more than 1,300 visitors. Last year attendance surpassed 1,400 people, reflecting strong demand for home improvement services in the rapidly expanding suburbs north of Minneapolis.
Interest from local businesses has also grown. Exhibitor booths for the 2026 show sold out early, signaling a robust market for contractors, builders, landscapers, and home technology providers seeking to connect with homeowners.
Dozens of Vendors, One Convenient Location
Visitors can expect a diverse mix of exhibitors covering nearly every aspect of residential construction and home improvement.
Participating businesses include:
• Builders and general contractors
• Remodeling specialists
• Landscaping and outdoor design companies
• Interior designers
• Home technology and energy efficiency experts
Event organizers carefully manage the mix of vendors by limiting the number of exhibitors within each specialty. The goal is to give attendees a wide range of options while avoiding an over-concentration of similar services.
Unlike some trade shows, exhibitors are required to staff their booths throughout the event, ensuring visitors can speak directly with professionals who can answer questions and provide guidance.
Give While You Browse: Supporting the ACBC Food Shelf
Alongside home improvement ideas, the event also serves as a community food drive benefiting the ACBC Food Shelf, with collections handled by volunteers from the Boy Scouts of America.
Founded in 1971 by four women working from a private basement to address hunger and clothing needs in their neighborhood, ACBC has grown into one of Anoka County’s most vital social service organizations.
Today the food shelf serves residents across the region and surrounding communities, averaging 2,100 household visits per month, assisting more than 7,500 individuals.
In 2024 alone, the organization distributed more than 1.4 million pounds of food across 23,000 household visits.
ACBC operates a wide range of programs, including:
• A full food shelf market
• Grocery delivery for homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities
• Weekly outreach for people experiencing homelessness
• Summer food bags for children
• A Thanksgiving distribution program serving roughly 1,200 families each year
Even a modest donation at the home show can help support these efforts.
