Three Shootings in 20 Minutes Put Minneapolis Police on High Alert

A rapid succession of gunfire incidents across Minneapolis on Thursday evening has prompted an ongoing investigation by the Minneapolis Police Department after three separate shootings were reported within a span of just 20 minutes, leaving three people injured.

Police say the incidents occurred between 6:29 p.m. and 6:46 p.m., spanning multiple neighborhoods across the city. Investigators emphasize that the shootings currently appear to be unrelated, though detectives continue to review evidence and interview witnesses as part of active investigations.

According to police, the incident began as an altercation between two men inside the home that escalated into gunfire.

One man was struck and sustained potentially life threatening gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police say the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, and investigators are continuing efforts to identify and locate the individual involved.

Second Shooting: Man Shot While Walking Along West River Road

Just seven minutes later, at approximately 6:36 p.m., officers responded to another report of gunfire on the 2000 block of West River Road North, several miles from the first incident.

Investigators say a man walking outside in the area was struck by gunfire. His injuries were described as non life threatening, and he was transported to a hospital for medical care.

During the course of the investigation, officers later identified a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. At approximately 2:50 a.m. Friday, police conducted a traffic stop and arrested three male suspects ages 18, 21, and 22.

The suspects were booked into the Hennepin County Jail while the investigation continues.

Third Shooting: Woman Injured Near Franklin Avenue

The third incident occurred at approximately 6:46 p.m. near the 800 block of Franklin Avenue East in the Ventura Village neighborhood.

Police say a woman who was outside in the area was struck by gunfire during the incident. Her injuries were described as non life threatening, and she was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not yet announced any arrests connected to the third shooting.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby buildings and canvassing the area for witnesses.

Investigators Say Incidents Do Not Appear Connected

Despite the tight timeline, investigators say there is no indication at this time that the shootings are related.
