For the first time since 1998, the Maple Grove boys soccer team is playing in a state championship after defeating Park-Cottage Grove in the class AAA state semifinals.
The Crimson tied the game up at 1-1 in the 78th minute after a goal from Gavin Chabica.
Then in overtime, it was Chabica again scoring the game-winning goal for the Crimson.
Maple Grove will play top-seeded Wayzata in the AAA state championship on Friday at 8:00 AM at U.S. Bank Stadium.
