With cannabis licenses slated to be granted by the state this year, Anoka has a process in place should multiple applications be received the same day. The policy was voted in 4-0, with Council Member Jeff Weaver absent during the regular Feb. 3 meeting.
“This will put criteria in place to assist the council in selecting the best fit for the city of Anoka if this situation arises,” City attorney Scott Baumgartner said. “It saves the city from allegations of discriminatory application processes.
