Missing Brooklyn Park Man with Dementia Found Safe Thanks To Community And Police Efforts
The Brooklyn Park community heaved a collective sigh of relief when Andre Delon Lane, 57, who went missing from his home on Friday was safely found. Lane, who grapples with dementia and Alzheimer's disease, sparked concern when he disappeared from the 6600 block of Tessman Terrace, believed to have left on foot. Standing at 5'9" and weighing around 250 lbs, he was reported to have been wearing a gray/blue Levi's jacket, black pants, a black shirt, and black Jordan shoes.
Local authorities and the community had been in an earnest search since the report came in at 2:00 p.m. yesterday. The Brooklyn Park Police Department, having issued an urgent call to action, asked residents to scan their properties in the vicinities of Tessman Farm Road and 85th Ave N. Added to this alert were photographs of Lane and additional images of clothes similar to what he was last seen wearing, aiding in the identification by both public servants and the populace alike.
It was yesterday evening, according to the police department's communications, that the anxiety that had blanketed the community was dispelled. Lane, having been located by the New Hope Police Department in the 8700 block of Bass Lake Road, was quickly tended to by paramedics and was subsequently reunited with his family.
"Lane was evaluated on scene by paramedics and reunited with his family," in a statement obtained by the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
