Two Children Injured After School Bus Crashes Into Minneapolis Daycare Playground

The incident happened on Monday afternoon.

Two children were injured when a school bus crashed through a playground fence outside a Minneapolis day care center on Monday.

The incident, reported at around 4:15 p.m., happened outside the Creative Early Learning Center at 8 West 6th Street on the city's south side.

The playground outside the daycare center abuts a parking lot outside the Richfield Lutheran Church, which is across Nicollet Avenue from Cub Foods.

Minneapolis PD has said that three children were on the playground at the time of the crash, with two of them taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Details of their injuries are not available at this time.

There were two children on the bus, who were unharmed.

KARE 11 spoke with a witness who said her car was struck by the bus prior to it hitting the fence. Bring Me The News has been to the scene and there is a black SUV in the parking lot with driver's side damage and airbags deployed.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
