A 16-year-old Sherburne County teen has been reported missing and may be in the Red Wing area, Big Lake police said Friday as investigators and local law-enforcement partners search for her whereabouts.

Big Lake police identified the missing teen as Elleah Mickelson, 16, and said she was last seen on Aug. 25 leaving on foot from the 4700 block of Sterling Drive in Big Lake. At the time she was wearing all black clothing, authorities said.
Police released a physical description to help the public: Mickelson is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds, and has green eyes. Investigators say she may be in the Red Wing area — officers asked anyone who sees her or who has information about her whereabouts to contact the Big Lake Police Department immediately.
Anyone with information is asked to call Big Lake Police at (763) 765-3595. Residents who believe they may have seen Mickelson or anyone matching her description in the Red Wing or surrounding communities are urged to contact local law enforcement as well so investigators can quickly follow up on leads.
Big Lake police and the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office are coordinating the search and have circulated the missing-person alert through regional channels and social media to reach as many residents as possible. Authorities did not immediately release further details about the circumstances of her disappearance.
