Fatal Crash in Andover Involving Pickup Truck and School Bus Under Investigation

ANDOVER, Minn. (Sept. 30, 2025) — A man was killed Tuesday morning after his pickup truck collided head-on with a school bus carrying students in Andover, authorities confirmed.

The crash was reported at approximately 6:59 a.m. near the intersection of 175th Avenue NW and Roanoke Street NW. Emergency crews from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Andover Fire Department, and Allina EMS responded to the scene.

According to preliminary findings, the pickup truck, which was towing a trailer and traveling northbound on Roanoke Street, crossed the center line and struck a southbound school bus. The adult male driver of the pickup truck received lifesaving measures but was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the time of the crash, the school bus was transporting five students en route to Anoka High School. The adult female bus driver and one student sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital. The four other students were released to their parents at the scene.

The Minnesota State Patrol, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident. Authorities said no additional information is being released at this time.
