ANOKA, Minn. — The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office has extended the application period and announced updated salary ranges for two key nursing positions within its Correctional Health unit, which provides medical care to individuals legally confined in the Anoka County Jail and other county correctional facilities.
Applications for the Registered Nurse, Correctional Health and Supervisor, Correctional Health positions will now be accepted through October 27, 2025, as part of an ongoing effort to attract qualified healthcare professionals committed to providing essential care in secure environments.
“These positions are vital to ensuring the health and safety of those in our custody,” the Sheriff’s Office said in its official announcement. “We’re looking for compassionate and skilled nursing professionals who are ready to make a difference in a unique and challenging healthcare setting.”
All hired employees will serve as Anoka County staff, working out of correctional facilities that include the Anoka County Jail in downtown Anoka. The county’s Correctional Health team delivers a range of clinical services—addressing acute, chronic, and mental health needs—under the standards required for correctional medical operations.
According to official Anoka County job postings, the Registered Nurse, Correctional Health position now offers an annual salary range of $85,363 to $119,496 (approximately $41.04 to $57.45 per hour), depending on education and experience.
The Supervisor, Correctional Health position carries an updated salary range of $91,769 to $128,440 annually (or $44.12 to $61.75 per hour).
Both roles require valid Minnesota nursing licensure and prior clinical experience, with supervisory or correctional healthcare experience preferred. Hired candidates will undergo comprehensive background screening and receive the full benefits package offered to county employees, including health insurance, paid time off, and participation in the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA).
The application deadline extension was announced publicly by the Sheriff’s Office to broaden the applicant pool and ensure staffing continuity in correctional healthcare. The department emphasized that these roles are crucial in maintaining high-quality medical standards for individuals in custody—many of whom face complex health challenges, including chronic conditions and behavioral health needs.
Recruitment efforts reflect a growing demand for experienced healthcare professionals in correctional settings across Minnesota and nationwide.
Interested candidates can apply through the Anoka County Career Opportunities Portal. Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. CST on October 27, 2025.
