COON RAPIDS, Minn.
The City of Coon Rapids is inviting residents to celebrate the season on the ice as the Coon Rapids Ice Center hosts its final themed skating event of the year, Holiday Skate with Rocky, on Sunday, December 21, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

The family friendly event combines open community skating with a festive holiday atmosphere and a special appearance by Rocky, the City of Coon Rapids’ well known raccoon mascot. Skaters of all ages are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday sweaters and seasonal attire while enjoying music, community connection, and time on the ice.

Ahead of the public skate, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy a Holiday Exhibition by students from the Coon Rapids Skating School, scheduled to begin at 4:50 p.m. The exhibition showcases local youth skaters and adds a celebratory lead in to the evening’s main event.

The Ice Center will offer several amenities throughout the night for participant convenience. Concessions, skate sharpening, and skate rentals will be available for purchase on site. Skate rentals are offered at a standard rate of $4 per pair.

Admission follows the Ice Center’s regular public skating rates:

  • Adults: $6
  • Students and seniors: $5
  • Children ages five and under: Free with a paid adult admission

The Coon Rapids Ice Center, located at 11000 Crooked Lake Boulevard, serves as a hub for recreational skating, hockey, and community events throughout the year. Holiday Skate with Rocky is part of the City’s broader effort to promote accessible, family oriented recreation during the winter season and marks the final themed skate on the 2025 calendar.

Additional details about public skating schedules, admission rates, and upcoming events are available through the City of Coon Rapids Parks and Recreation Department.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early, dress warmly, and join neighbors for an evening that blends holiday cheer with one last community skate before the year comes to a close.
