Columbia Heights authorities are investigating an early-morning shooting that sent multiple law enforcement agencies rushing to the 500 block of Huset Parkway NE on Friday, November 14, 2025. The incident, which occurred shortly before 7:45 a.m., prompted a heavy response from regional public safety partners and has renewed community concerns following a separate fatal shooting in the city just one week earlier.
According to preliminary information confirmed by the Columbia Heights Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, officers arrived to find fired cartridge casings scattered near a cluster of townhomes. Evidence indicates that a barrage of gunfire “sprayed” the area, striking the exterior of the residences at multiple points. Despite the intensity of the gunfire, authorities reported no known injuries.

The Columbia Heights Police Department led the initial response, supported by officers from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Fridley Police Department, Blaine Police Department, and Ramsey Police Department. By early Friday afternoon, no arrests had been made, and investigators had not released information regarding potential suspects or a possible motive.
The shooting comes one week after a November 7, 2025, homicide in Columbia Heights, where a man was found fatally shot inside a vehicle on the 500 block of 38th Avenue NE. While both incidents remain active investigations, police have not identified any connection between the two cases.
Authorities are urging residents to come forward with any information—no matter how small—that may assist investigators.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Anoka County non-emergency dispatch line at 763-427-1212.
