ANOKA, Minn. — Anoka County government offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The county’s holiday schedule identifies both Thanksgiving Day and the day after as official closures, with regular business hours for most departments resuming Monday, Dec. 1.
County officials are urging residents to plan ahead, particularly those needing in-person services such as licensing, court filings, or library resources.

All Anoka County License & Passport Centers — including the Coon Rapids Passport Center — will be closed both Thursday and Friday.
Residents needing to complete tasks such as vehicle tab renewals, title transfers, or passport applications are encouraged to do so ahead of the holiday or utilize available online services through the county’s digital portals.

All Anoka County Library branches will close on Thanksgiving Day and on Friday, Nov. 28, in line with the library system’s 2025 holiday calendar.
External book drops will remain accessible 24/7 at most branches, allowing patrons to return materials even while buildings are closed. Online catalog access, e-books, audiobooks, and streaming resources remain available through the library’s digital platforms.
The Minnesota Judicial Branch, including Anoka County District Court, designates Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday as court holidays.
No court hearings will take place, and counters will be closed.
Filings with deadlines falling on these dates will typically be accepted on the next business day, consistent with state court rules.
While administrative offices and the Parks Activities Center will be closed for the holiday, Anoka County park grounds and trails will remain open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Visitors can still access amenities for walking, winter recreation, and outdoor activities.
Park facility reservations, campground inquiries, and administrative services will not be processed until offices reopen.
