BROOKLYN PARK, MN (July 18, 2026) The Twin Cities Gus Macker Basketball Tournament will return to Brooklyn Park August 15 and 16, bringing players of different ages and skill levels to North Hennepin Community College for a weekend of outdoor three-on-three competition.
Organizers are accepting team registrations through July 27. The registration fee is $200 per team.
Players must be at least eight years old. Teams register four players, allowing one substitute during games. Each team is guaranteed at least three games under the tournament’s double-elimination format.
Registered officials will oversee games on outdoor asphalt courts.
The weekend will also include a slam-dunk competition, three-point contest, mascot game, food vendors, music and family activities.

The Twin Cities tournament is entering its third year in Brooklyn Park.
Organizers reported that 173 teams participated in 2025 and that the event raised nearly $30,000 for community nonprofits. The tournament has contributed more than $50,000 to local organizations since arriving in the Twin Cities.

Proceeds from the 2026 event will again support local charities.
The national Gus Macker tournament tradition began more than 50 years ago and has become known for bringing organized street basketball competitions to communities across the country.
North Hennepin Community College is located at 7411 85th Avenue North in Brooklyn Park.
