MINNEAPOLIMEDIA NEWS | St. Francis Invites Residents to Help Shape City’s 2050 Comprehensive Plan
The multiyear planning process will guide the city’s long-term development, infrastructure and community priorities.
ST. FRANCIS, MN (August 26, 2026) The City of St. Francis has begun work on its 2050 Comprehensive Plan and is asking residents to participate in an opening community survey.
City information indicates that the multiyear planning process began during summer 2026 and is expected to continue through 2028.
A comprehensive plan serves as a long-range framework for municipal decisions. Such plans commonly address future land use, housing, transportation, parks, public facilities, economic development and infrastructure needs.
The St. Francis initiative will allow residents, property owners and other community stakeholders to provide input about how the city should develop during the coming decades.
Questions involving residential growth, commercial development, transportation connections and public services can become increasingly important as communities in northern Anoka County experience population and development pressures.
St. Francis has placed a “Take the Survey” invitation on its official website. A closing date for the survey was not specified in the public material reviewed by MinneapoliMedia.
Residents should consult the city’s website for the survey, future public meetings and additional opportunities to participate. Because the plan will take approximately two years to complete, community engagement is expected to continue beyond the initial survey.
