MINNEAPOLIMEDIA NEWS | Anoka County Sheriff's Office Seeks Public's Help Finding Missing 16-Year-Old in Andover
Authorities are searching for Josephine Henning, who goes by Heru, after the teenager disappeared Friday. Investigators are asking residents to check surveillance footage and report possible sightings.
ANDOVER, MN (October 13, 2026). The Anoka County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a 16-year-old Andover teenager who has been missing since Friday, October 9, and may have connections to southeastern Wisconsin.
The teenager, identified by authorities as Josephine Jean Henning, uses the name Heru. Investigators say Heru was last seen in Andover shortly before noon Friday, after leaving an area near their home.
According to the sheriff's office, Heru was initially seen leaving the 800 block of 141st Avenue NW at approximately 11:15 a.m.
Authorities said Heru frequently visits nearby parks and walking trails and may have been heading toward a trail accessible from the dead end of 140th Lane, near railroad tracks.
Approximately 30 minutes later, at 11:45 a.m., Heru was observed near the 3700 block of 139th Lane in Andover.
Investigators said the teenager requested a ride to Wisconsin and received a white hoodie to wear. Authorities believe Heru may have ties to southeastern Wisconsin, although they have not publicly confirmed that the teenager traveled there.
Description of the Missing Teenager
The Anoka County Sheriff's Office provided the following identifying information:
- Name: Josephine Jean Henning, known as Heru
- Age: 16
- Height: 5 feet, 2 inches
- Weight: Approximately 160 pounds
- Clothing: Black pants and a black hoodie when initially seen; later received a white hoodie
- Last reported sighting: Friday, October 9, 2026, at approximately 11:45 a.m., near the 3700 block of 139th Lane, Andover
Authorities have not publicly identified a confirmed destination or provided details establishing the circumstances of the disappearance.
Investigators Ask Residents to Review Camera Footage
The sheriff's office is particularly interested in information from residents living near the 800 block of 141st Avenue NW and the 3700 block of 139th Lane.
Neighbors are being asked to review doorbell cameras, home security systems and other available surveillance recordings from Friday, October 9, through the present.
Investigators are also asking residents who use nearby parks and walking trails to remain alert for information that could help establish Heru's movements.
Even a seemingly minor observation may help investigators reconstruct the teenager's route after the last reported sighting.
Residents who believe they have relevant footage should preserve the original recording and contact law enforcement rather than relying solely on social media posts.
Search Remains Active
The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said investigators have continued following available leads since Heru was reported missing.
The possibility of connections to southeastern Wisconsin remains one aspect of the investigation, but authorities have not confirmed that Heru crossed state lines.
No public information released by the sheriff's office establishes that the teenager was abducted or that a crime occurred.
Because Heru is a minor, residents are encouraged to direct information to investigators rather than attempt to independently locate or confront anyone they believe may be involved.
