Bad news for noodle lovers: Tori 44, a popular north Minneapolis ramen spot, has closed for good.
The restaurant, located at 2203 44th Ave N. in the city's Camden neighborhood, announced its closure Friday, saying it would be its last day in business.
"Proud of the delicious comforting chicken/vegan ramen that we’ve made these last 6 years, but alas it’s become untenable to noodle around any longer," the announcement says.
Nonetheless, the business promises that "new adventures await," and if you've got a hankering for Tori's scratch-made fare, its sister restaurant — simply called Tori and located on St. Paul's 7th Avenue — remains in operation.
Known for its pork-free ramen and vegetarian options, Tori is owned and operated by chef Jason Dorweile, a Marine Corps veteran who was inspired by his Korean mother's cooking, according to the restaurant's website.
