An area church’s charitable endeavor has been helping those affected by homelessness while also searching for a permanent home of its own — and Compassion Coffee has now found one. Known for its Compassion Coffee cart that provides jobs and skills training to people affected by homelessness, the on-wheels business will now be putting down roots on Main Street, Anoka.

“We took the lease over May 1 and signed a five-year lease,” Executive Director Rob Bergfalk said. “We’ll be there for a while, hopefully. Our hope would be that we’d be there longer. … Our hope right now is to be open basically by the beginning of the school year.”
