COON RAPIDS, Minn. — July 31, 2025 — The Coon Rapids City Council approved a five-year, $75,842 contract with Axon Enterprise Inc. during its July 15 meeting to implement a modern, cloud-based evidence management system for the City Attorney’s Office.
The contract authorizes the deployment of Axon’s Axon Justice software platform, a comprehensive digital solution designed to securely manage public safety video evidence, legal discovery, and case documentation. This upgrade is intended to improve the efficiency of handling growing volumes of digital evidence, including police body camera footage, and to streamline collaboration between law enforcement agencies and legal staff.
MinneapoliMedia reported on July 21 that the system “will enhance efficiency in handling public safety video evidence and discovery processes, streamlining collaboration between law enforcement and legal teams.”
Axon Enterprise, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, is a well-established provider of law enforcement technologies, including body cameras, TASER devices, and digital evidence management platforms. Its software is widely used across Minnesota by agencies such as the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, the Minneapolis Police Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
The $75,842 contract cost will be spread over five years, with funding allocated from the City Attorney’s Office budget. City staff expect the system to be fully implemented by the end of 2025.
