ANDOVER, Minn. — The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is thanking Walmart’s Andover Supercenter for its generous donation to this year’s Shop With A Cop program, which will take place during the holiday season.
The annual event pairs local children with deputies for a special night of holiday shopping, helping families in need while strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the community. Kids are provided with a budget or gift card to purchase gifts, with deputies by their side to lend a hand.
During the donation visit, deputies also met an unexpected “celebrity” guest — Chester Cheetah, who brought added fun and smiles to the day.
The Sheriff’s Office says programs like Shop With A Cop not only brighten the holidays for children but also provide valuable opportunities to build trust between youth and officers. Walmart has been a longstanding partner in making the event possible.
