BLAINE, Minn. — The Blaine Police Department (BPD) delivered a carload of new clothing items and $960 in gift cards to Alexandra House, Inc., a local nonprofit providing shelter and support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

The donated items had been stolen and were deemed unusable by the original retailer. Instead of discarding them, BPD’s Community Service Officers redirected the goods to Alexandra House to support women and children staying at the shelter.

“By repurposing these recovered items, we’re helping families in need and reinforcing our commitment to the community,” the BPD said.

Alexandra House serves residents across the Twin Cities metro area, providing emergency shelter, legal advocacy, support for children, and basic‑needs assistance such as clothing and household items. Donations of new or gently used items help the nonprofit maintain stability for families transitioning out of abusive situations.

This collaboration highlights the ongoing partnership between law enforcement and local organizations in addressing community needs beyond public safety. Residents interested in supporting Alexandra House can make financial contributions or donate items by appointment at their Blaine facility.
