COON RAPIDS, Minn. — A 28-year-old Ramsey man was critically injured late Tuesday night, October 7, after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a bridge deck along eastbound Highway 10 at Round Lake Boulevard, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Authorities identified the driver as Tyrell Linard Dixon, who was operating a 2018 Toyota Camry at the time of the crash. The incident occurred around 11:23 p.m., when Dixon’s vehicle veered off the road and collided with the bridge deck. He was the sole occupant of the car and sustained life-threatening injuries. Dixon was transported to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids for treatment.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that alcohol and drug use were not suspected as contributing factors in the crash. Troopers also noted that the roadway was dry at the time of the incident.
The Coon Rapids Police and Fire Departments, along with Allina EMS, assisted the State Patrol at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
