Coon Rapids City Facilities Still Closed for Thanksgiving; Recycling Center to Reopen Saturday

COON RAPIDS, Minn. — The City of Coon Rapids is observing the Thanksgiving holiday. All non-essential municipal facilities were closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, for Thanksgiving and remain closed today, Friday, Nov. 28. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, Dec. 1.

City offices, including departments responsible for utility billing, planning, permitting, and license applications, are unavailable during this two-day closure. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly for any administrative business.

Recycling Center Reopens Saturday

The Coon Rapids Recycling Center, located at 1827 111th Avenue NW, is closed for the holiday on Nov. 27–28 and will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 9 a.m. The facility operates under its fall/winter schedule of Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The center accepts materials not collected curbside, including electronics, appliances, cardboard, organics, Styrofoam, paint, and other specialty recyclables. Some items may carry disposal fees. Residents are encouraged to check the city’s website for up-to-date information on accepted materials and fees.

Essential Services Remain Operational

While administrative offices are closed, public safety services, including the Coon Rapids Police Department, continue to operate without interruption. Emergency services remain available 24 hours a day via 911.
