FRIDLEY, MN (July 15, 2026) Fridley police are asking residents, casino employees and members of the broader Twin Cities community to help locate a 49-year-old man who has not been seen since leaving his home more than a month ago.
Billy Schneider was last seen June 3 leaving his residence on the 7300 block of Symphony Street Northeast in Fridley, according to a missing-person alert released Wednesday.
Investigators said Schneider’s intended destination was unknown. He is known to frequent casinos, a detail police hope may help members of the public recognize him or remember a recent encounter.
Authorities said they are concerned for his safety.
Schneider is described as:
Police have not publicly identified what clothing he was wearing when he disappeared, whether he left on foot or in a vehicle, or which casinos he is known to visit.
The absence of those details makes it especially important for people to focus on Schneider’s photograph and physical description rather than clothing that may have changed since he was last seen.
Schneider’s last reported sighting occurred June 3, but Fridley police issued the public appeal on July 15.
Authorities have not disclosed why the wider alert was issued more than a month after his disappearance. Missing-person investigations can expand publicly when investigators exhaust initial leads, receive new information or determine that broader assistance may help locate the person.
Police have not announced evidence of foul play.
The length of time Schneider has been missing, however, heightens the importance of information that may initially appear insignificant. A casino employee, rideshare driver, hotel worker, restaurant employee or customer may have encountered him without knowing he had been reported missing.
Anyone who has seen Schneider or knows where he may be is asked to contact the Fridley Police Department through Anoka County Emergency Communications at 763-427-1212.
Anyone who sees Schneider and believes there is an immediate emergency should call 911.
People reporting a possible sighting should provide as much specific information as possible, including:
Members of the public should not place themselves in danger or attempt to conduct their own investigation.
Police have released limited information about the circumstances of Schneider’s disappearance. Social-media users should avoid adding unconfirmed claims about his health, personal relationships or reasons for leaving home.
Accurate sharing can expand the search. Speculation, mistaken identifications and outdated information can divert investigators from credible leads.
People sharing the alert should preserve Schneider’s name, photograph, description and the official contact number.
As of the preparation of this report, authorities had not publicly announced that Schneider had been found. Because missing-person cases can change quickly, readers should check for updated information from the Fridley Police Department before redistributing the alert after an extended period.
MinneapoliMedia will update this report if police confirm Schneider has been located or release additional information about the search.
Anyone with information should contact Fridley police through Anoka County dispatch at 763-427-1212 or call 911 during an emergency.
