ST. PAUL, MN (July 27, 2026). Minnesota United goalkeeper Drake Callender made five saves Saturday as the Loons held Western Conference leader Vancouver Whitecaps FC to a scoreless draw at Allianz Field.

Vancouver goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka stopped three Minnesota attempts to preserve his own clean sheet. Both teams finished with 11 shots, while Vancouver controlled approximately 60 percent of possession, according to Major League Soccer’s match statistics.

The draw left Minnesota United with a six-match winless run consisting of three losses and three draws. The Loons have not won since defeating Columbus 3-2 on May 2.

Callender Prevents Vancouver Breakthrough

Callender’s performance proved critical against a Vancouver team that entered the match leading the Western Conference. His five saves gave him his fifth clean sheet in 17 starts during his first Minnesota season.

Minnesota’s defense avoided a repeat of last season’s meetings, when Vancouver outscored the Loons 9-1 across two victories.

The result also prevented Minnesota from suffering another defeat after its 2-1 road loss to Sporting Kansas City in its first match following the World Cup break.

Minnesota United will remain at Allianz Field for its next match against San Diego FC. Vancouver returns home to face Los Angeles FC.
