MINNEAPOLIMEDIA NEWS | Pedestrian Killed in Saturday-Night Collision Near Target Field

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (July 27, 2026). A man in his 40s died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night near Target Field in downtown Minneapolis, according to information Minneapolis police provided to CBS Minnesota.

First Precinct officers responded at approximately 9:21 p.m. to the intersection of Twins Way and 10th Street North after receiving a report that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian.

Police said the man was crossing 10th Street North when the collision occurred. He died from his injuries.

Authorities had not publicly released the man’s name as of the initial report. Formal identification is generally made by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office after relatives have been notified.

Driver Remained and Cooperated

Police identified the woman driving the vehicle and said she remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

No arrest, citation or allegation of impairment was announced in the information available Sunday. The driver’s cooperation should not be interpreted as determining responsibility for the collision.

Investigators will have to establish factors including vehicle speed, traffic-signal status, visibility, pedestrian movement and other circumstances surrounding the crash.

The collision occurred in a heavily traveled section of downtown Minneapolis near Target Field and surrounding entertainment, transportation and residential areas.

Police said the investigation remains active.
