MINNEAPOLIMEDIA NEWS | Woman Says Brooklyn Center Hotel Ignored Signs She Was Being Trafficked at Age 15
BROOKLYN CENTER, MN (September 17, 2026). A Minnesota woman who says she was forced into commercial sex as a teenager has filed a federal lawsuit against the owners and operators of several Twin Cities hotels, including the Super 8 in Brooklyn Center.
The plaintiff is identified in court documents only by the initials T.S. Her lawsuit alleges that traffickers brought her to the Brooklyn Center hotel in 2013 after exploiting her vulnerability as a 15-year-old runaway.
T.S. alleges she was forced to have sexual contact with between seven and 20 men per day.
The lawsuit contends that hotel employees ignored multiple indicators of trafficking. The alleged warning signs included numerous men entering the same room, traffickers monitoring the teenager, repeated requests for towels and bedding, cash or untraceable payments and clothing that was inappropriate for her age and the weather.
The lawsuit also alleges that traffickers were permitted to rent rooms without providing normal identifying information.
Wyndham, one of the defendants, stated in a court filing that it lacked sufficient information to confirm the plaintiff’s allegations. The claims have not been decided by a court.
The case has additional significance because the Brooklyn Center Super 8 was among four hotels searched in a separate multi-agency trafficking investigation last week.
Police later reported 28 arrests involving allegations of human trafficking, drug activity and illegal firearm possession. Investigators identified 17 girls and women as possible trafficking victims.
MinneapoliMedia previously reported the hotel raids. This lawsuit is a separate development because it examines whether hotel owners and operators can be held civilly responsible for allegedly failing to respond to visible signs that a child was being exploited.
