MINNEAPOLIS, MN (September 19, 2026). The Twin Cities still has an unusually full calendar for the remainder of the weekend, with major festivals, cultural celebrations, riverfront programming, community gatherings, professional and college sports, theater, music, farmers markets and family activities continuing Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday began with drizzle and temperatures in the upper 50s. Cloudy conditions are expected through much of the day, with highs near 61 to 62 degrees across Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Sunday is expected to remain cloudy but warmer, with highs near 69 degrees.
Rain has already affected parts of the weekend. Lakewood Cemetery canceled its Friday Lantern Lighting Celebration, although the Saturday presentation remained scheduled when this update was prepared. Because the ceremony is rain-sensitive and has no rain date, guests should check Lakewood’s live event page immediately before leaving home.
Outdoor grounds, trails and festival areas may remain wet even after the drizzle ends. Waterproof footwear, layered clothing and a final organizer-page check are strongly recommended.
EVENTS CONTINUING THROUGH THE WEEKEND
Minnesota Renaissance Festival
When: Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Minnesota Renaissance Festival grounds in Shakopee. Queen’s Gate is at 12364 Chestnut Boulevard. King’s Gate is at 3525 145th Street West.
