The company is once again getting a head start on the holiday season in 2023.

Target has announced its early plans for holiday shopping deals, starting even earlier than last year with its deals launching in a few weeks.

The Minneapolis-based retailer announced Tuesday that it will be bringing back its Target Deal Days, rebranded as "Target Circle Week," from Oct. 1-7. The event will now be a week long and starts earlier than last year, when it was held on Oct. 6-8, and even earlier than 2021 when it was held from Oct. 10-12.

In addition to Target Circle Week, the company is bringing back its "Deal of the Day" promotion starting Oct. 1 and continuing through till Christmas Eve. It offers a new one-day sale every morning, sometimes offering multiple deals, for up to 50% off select products, with RedCard members receiving an extra 5% off.

"Target Circle members will enjoy personalized offers on top of everyday deals. All guests will find savings every week of the season and can get a sneak peek at the hottest deals via the Target weekly ad," the business says.

The Holiday Price Match Guarantee also kicks off on Oct. 6 and extends through Dec. 24. Shoppers can receive refunds for the difference if they buy an item that later gets its price slashed during the Black Friday or December sales.

More information on Black Friday deals is expected to be released sometime in October.

'Thousands of items' at $25 or lower

The store said its offering thousands of new items priced at $25 or lower, ranging from clothes, home goods, food and other essentials.

Target's festive food and drink selection will also arrive soon, with the retailer saying it will have hundreds of items starting at $2, including seasonal items like Favorite Day Christmas Tree Shaped Bark and Mint Hot Cocoa Spoons.

The company plans to hire 100,000 seasonal employees, the same number as in 2021 and 2022. New hires will be paid a starting wage of $15-$24.

Target is also focusing on its Drive Up option this year. The retailer has added more than 27,000 Drive Up stalls across all of its stores. This will be the first holiday season shoppers are able to make a return and place a Starbucks order with their Drive Up order.

The company reported its first quarterly sales drop in six years in August, attributed to customers' inflation worries and some negative reactions to its Pride merchandise first being displayed, and then being pulled from shelves. According to its latest report, it expects sales to decline for the remainder of the year.

Per its latest annual financial report, more than 50% of Target's annual sales come from toys, fashion and electronics — all of which will be highly sought-after products during the holiday season.
