Blaine Denies Liquor license For Jamaican Restaurant

Irie Vybz Jamaican restaurant will not receive a liquor license in Blaine. The City Council denied approving the liquor license, on a 7-1 vote, during a public hearing at the council’s April 1 meeting.

Blaine City Clerk Cathy Sorenson said that staff recommended the denial of the license because of events at a former Irie Vybz location in Brooklyn Center that included assaults, while alcohol violations were reported at the current Blaine location while waiting for its liquor license approval, alongside hosting events without proper authorization.
