Coon Rapids City Community Police Academy Starts Jan. 14

Sign up today to take part in the Community Police Academy led by Coon Rapids police officers. The free, seven-week program runs Tuesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. between Jan. 14 and Feb. 25. It offers an opportunity for dialogue between participants and members of the police department, while exploring a variety of public safety topics.

Discover how our police department is structured, go on a ride-along with an officer on patrol and participate in K9 and DUI demos. Every session delves into a new topic, including de-escalation and decision-making techniques, law enforcement tools and technology, and mental health issues. Each week is led by different officers, which gives participants a chance to meet several of those serving their community.
