COON RAPIDS, MN — The City of Coon Rapids is inviting residents to kick off summer with community spirit, city services, and sweet treats at its first Summer in the City neighborhood meeting of 2025, taking place Tuesday, June 25 at Lions Coon Creek Park, located at 11861 Hanson Blvd. NW.
The event runs from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., with a short program scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and chat directly with city staff, including representatives from police, fire, public works, and parks departments. These annual meetings are designed to strengthen the connection between residents and local government while making it easy — and fun — for families to get involved.
Children (and the young at heart) can explore fire trucks, police vehicles, and heavy equipment up close — always a fan favorite. And no summer gathering would be complete without a cool treat: free ice cream will be handed out while supplies last.
Adding a splash of whimsy to Tuesday’s event, a balloon artist will be on site creating custom balloon creations — a one-night-only feature for this stop in the series.
If you can’t attend the June 25 event, don’t worry. The Summer in the City series continues throughout the summer with future dates and locations.
The next neighborhood meeting is scheduled for:
đź“… Monday, July 22
📍 Parkside Park – 700 99th Ave. NW
🎨 Free Entertainment: Face Painter
These meetings are a unique way to bring city hall to the community — right into local parks — offering neighbors a chance to gather, ask questions, and enjoy entertainment in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Mark your calendar, bring the family, and come learn more about the city you call home.
