Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Explorers Step Up for Community Clean-Up

ANOKA COUNTY, MN — Teen members of the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Explorers program recently demonstrated their dedication to community service by participating in a county road clean-up initiative, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.

In a public post, the ACSO commended the young volunteers for their efforts, saying, “Our fantastic teen members of the ACSO Explorers program were out cleaning up our roads. Great job to all and thank you for your service to the community!”

The ACSO Explorers Post #444, sponsored by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, provides youth aged 14 to 19 with hands-on experience in law enforcement and public safety. Participants engage in structured training that includes topics such as traffic control, first aid, and accident investigation, while also taking part in volunteer activities that foster civic responsibility.

This recent clean-up effort underscores the program’s dual mission—introducing youth to careers in law enforcement while nurturing a lifelong commitment to community engagement. Although the Sheriff’s Office did not specify the number of volunteers or the total amount of litter collected, the gesture reflects a broader culture of service within Anoka County.

Programs like the Explorers’ clean-up complement the county’s wider volunteer initiatives, such as the Adopt-a-Highway program, which encourages residents and organizations to maintain local roadways. By involving young people directly in such service projects, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office continues to build meaningful connections between law enforcement and the communities it serves.
