COON RAPIDS, MN — The Coon Rapids Police Department (CRPD) has launched a community food drive aimed at helping less-fortunate residents by collecting non-perishable food items for families in need. The initiative began on Monday, November 3, 2025, and remains open-ended, encouraging residents to contribute as soon as possible.
The department’s announcement emphasized the importance of community participation and compassion, stating:
“Your contributions can make a significant difference in our community, helping families in need. Let’s come together to support those who may be struggling. Thank you for your generosity.”

Residents are invited to drop off non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, boxed meals, peanut butter, and other shelf-stable staples at the following location:
Coon Rapids Police Department
11155 Robinson Drive NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433
Donation Drop-Off Hours:
Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
While the police department is open 24 hours for emergency services, food donations will be accepted only during administrative business hours. No end date for the drive has been set, so early participation is encouraged.
The food drive represents more than a charitable act—it is a symbol of community resilience and solidarity. By hosting the initiative, the Coon Rapids Police Department is reinforcing its role not only as a public-safety institution but also as a community partner dedicated to improving the well-being of residents.
Food insecurity continues to affect households across Coon Rapids and the Twin Cities region, as local food shelves report increased demand due to inflation and rising living costs. Efforts like this drive provide immediate relief and remind residents that small acts of kindness—such as donating a few canned goods—can make a real impact.
Residents, local businesses, and organizations are encouraged to contribute and help ensure that no family in the community goes hungry this season.
