Anoka County to Close at Noon Dec. 24, Closed Dec. 25 for Christmas Holiday

Anoka County government offices will close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, and remain closed all day Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, according to a county announcement.

The early closure follows established county practice. When Christmas Eve falls Monday through Thursday, most county offices close at noon.

Anoka County Library
Wednesday, Dec. 24: Closed all day
Thursday, Dec. 25: Closed all day

While physical library locations will be closed, residents may continue to access digital resources, including e books, audiobooks, and the online catalog.

Wednesday, Dec. 24: Open 9:00 a.m. to noon
Thursday, Dec. 25: Closed all day

Anoka Hennepin School District
Schools and district offices will be closed Wednesday and Thursday for the Christmas holiday.

Emergency services
The Anoka County Jail and 911 emergency services will continue operating 24 hours a day throughout the holiday period.

Courts and online services

Minnesota state courts observe Christmas Day as a court holiday. Individuals with hearings, filings, or deadlines scheduled near Dec. 25 are advised to verify details through the Minnesota Judicial Branch.

Many county services remain available online during the holiday closure, including property tax payments, permit applications, and general information access through the Anoka County website.

County officials encourage residents to plan ahead for in person services, particularly those requiring counter assistance, ahead of the noon closure on Dec. 24.
