The Coon Rapids Police Department is inviting residents to connect directly with local officers during its next Coffee with a Cop event, scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The informal gathering will take place at the Starbucks located inside Target, at 3300 124th Avenue NW in Coon Rapids.

According to the department, the event is designed to provide a relaxed, welcoming space where community members can enjoy a cup of coffee while engaging in open conversation with officers. No agenda is set, and no speeches are planned. Instead, the focus is on relationship-building, listening, and fostering trust between residents and law enforcement.

Coffee with a Cop is a nationally recognized community policing initiative that emphasizes accessibility and dialogue outside of enforcement settings. By meeting residents in everyday spaces, departments aim to strengthen transparency, address concerns, and reinforce shared responsibility for community well-being.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to stop by at any point during the two-hour window.

Residents with questions about the event can follow updates from the Coon Rapids Police Department through its official communication channels.
