Against that backdrop, Brooklyn Center nonprofit Task Force Inc. will once again open its doors this weekend, providing free groceries through a community drive-thru food distribution designed to help individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

The distribution will take place Saturday, June 27, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., or until all available food has been distributed, at the organization's office located at 6040 Earle Brown Drive in Brooklyn Center.

No registration is required, and organizers say food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

"Our office will be open tomorrow from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m., where supplies will be available until they last," Task Force Inc. announced in a message to the community. "Please remember to disseminate this notification accordingly."

The organization is encouraging residents to share the announcement with family members, neighbors, friends, and anyone who may benefit from additional food assistance.

The drive-thru model, first adopted widely during the COVID-19 pandemic, has become a permanent feature of many community food distributions because it allows volunteers to serve large numbers of households efficiently while reducing barriers for seniors, parents with young children, and individuals with limited mobility.
